Halcyon Pilates is the first studio of its kind to open in Corona, CA. Opening in July 2014, we were the first to bring Reformer Pilates, Barre, and Indoor Water Rowing to the area.

We are located on the corner of California Avenue and Rimpau Avenue in Rimpau Square. Our studio is inside a two story professional office building. We are on the ground floor. Our studio is unique in that we have over 2,000 square feet and yet we choose to keep our classes small. We chose quality over quantity. Instead of packing in Pilates Reformers, we keep our Reformer classes small. Our attention is on you, not on packing you into a class of 12 or more.

 

WHY HALCYON

  • Semi-Private Instruction: Small Classes! We limit our barre classes to 8, our rowing classes to 5, and our reformer classes to 4. Our attention is on you, not on packing you into a class of 12 or more.

  • Expert Instructors: Halcyon's instructors are fully certified and have over 400 hours of specialized training in Pilates. Trainers at some gyms may only have a weekend certificate.

  • Amenities: At Halcyon we supply our clients with water, towels, hair ties, and mats at no charge. Other studios charge for these services or don't offer them at all.

  • No Commitment: At Halcyon we believe you will love our commitment to you. We do not lock our clients into long term contracts even on auto-pays!

  • Space: Halcyon's studio occupies over a 2,000 sq. ft. space. And even so, we still limit our barre classes to 8, our rowing to 5, and our reformer classes to 4. You won't be bumping elbows here!

  • Convenience: Halcyon offers a variety of pricing options to fit any budget. We offer several morning, midday, and evening classes to mesh with many schedules. Also, our group classes, may be booked online via computer or a mobile device!

REFORMER PILATEs


REFORMER PILATEs


The reformer is a highly versatile, spring loaded, kick-ass piece of modern exercise technology. We feature the beautiful balanced body® Allegro® 2 reformers. It is designed for people at all levels of physical fitness and works virtually every part of the body.  The Reformer is a also designed to add resistance and support for the user and is low-impact on the joints and body.  Although Pilates is gentle on the joints, it is challenging. Together with the Pilates principles, the reformer is capable of working muscle groups that are often neglected at your typical gym. No bulking up here! Just a lean, mean Pilates machine!

With a maximum of 4 students, each Reformer class provides semi-private instruction. Just you and three of you new Halcyon BFFs. Focusing on form, technique, core strength, and flexibility, Reformer Pilates at Halcyon is a fusion of traditional Pilates and dynamic strength training to achieve a complete body workout within a fun, energetic, and effective 50 minute workout.

Barre


Barre


With a focus on form, we fuse elements of Pilates, Dance, Yoga, and functional fitness to achieve a complete body workout. Expect a little bit of everything...light cardio, strength training, balance work, core conditioning, ballet barre work, and stretching.  Our Barre classes are low impact on the joints but are still challenging. Our classes incorporate a variety of small apparatus including the ballet barre, fitness circle, mini-balls, Therabands, and hand weights. Minimal downtime and flowing transitions between exercises keeps the heart rate elevated and the body working. Sweat never looked so good!

With a maximum of 8 students, our Barre classes provide a complete body workout in a small group environment that is fun, and energetic in 50 minutes. We bring a whole new meaning to happy hour at the Barre here at Halcyon!

Rowing


Rowing


Why row? Rowing is a full body exercise! It's not just for the arms. We use 60% legs, 20% core, and 20% arms. This is one cardio class that you’ll want to come back for. Rowing has been touted as the “New Spinning” by many fitness publications.  Unlike a stationary bike, which has resistance in one direction, rowing has resistance in both directions - forward and back.  Rowing is very simple to learn, anyone can do it.

Our rowing classes max out at 5 clients. We use the WaterRower machines. This indoor rower is unique in that it uses water for resistance (unlike a fan and chain rower that is used in many big box gyms). WaterRower designed their rower to emulate the dynamics of rowing through water. By using water for resistance, the workout provides a more realistic rowing experience. This is good for those who row competitively, and those who like to row for a kick-ass cardio workout.
