ABOUT OUR REFORMER CLASSES....

The reformer is a highly versatile, spring loaded, kick-ass piece of modern exercise technology. It is designed for people at all levels of physical fitness and works virtually every part of the body. The reformer is designed to add resistance and support for the user and is low-impact on the joints and body. Although reformer Pilates is gentle on the joints, it is challenging. Together with the Pilates principles, the reformer is capable of working muscle groups that are often neglected in your typical gym session. No bulking up here! Just a lean, mean Pilates machine!

With a maximum of 4 students, each reformer class provides semi-private instruction. Focusing on form, technique, core strength, and flexibility, reformer Pilates at Halcyon is a fusion of traditional Pilates and dynamic strength training within a fun and energetic atmosphere. 

ABOUT OUR REFORMER CLASS LEVELS... 

Our classes are mixed levels, except where noted in the class descriptions. If you are new to Pilates we highly recommend you take our Reformer Sculpt class or a Private introductory session first. If you have a major injury, or need extreme modifications, or are a pre-post natal client, we recommend that you contact the studio first to determine the most appropriate group class.


REFORMER SCULPT

LEVEL: OPEN

New to Pilates and Halcyon? This class is for you! Our open level Reformer class is designed to instill a strong foundation of Pilates. This total body workout is ideal for those who are new to Pilates, but is challenging enough for experienced clients who want to refine their skills and concentrate on the Pilates fundamentals.  

Grip socks required.


REFORMER + BARRE FUSION

LEVEL: INTERMEDIATE

Sculpt your legs, define your abs, tone your arms and work your booty with this upbeat, aerobic Reformer fusion class. We combine the best lengthening and core strengthening elements of the reformer with the best moves from barre. Sweat never looked so pretty! 

Grip socks required.  

Prior Reformer Pilates class experience is recommended. This class incorporates the use of cardio on the Pilates Jumpboard.

** This class is not appropriate for pre-natal clients, or clients who need extreme modifications.


REFORMER: ROW-FORMER!

LEVEL: OPEN

This class is a perfect combination of cardio and Pilates. The class is split between work on our WaterRower machines for cardio that will help you get stronger and leaner and Pilates Reformer work to help you perfect your alignment and posture. Reformer Pilates and cardio combined to make one bad ass class!

Grip socks and shoes required. 

** This class is not appropriate for pre-natal clients or clients who need extreme modifications. 


REFORMER JUMP

LEVEL: INTERMEDIATE

Jump laying down? Yes, please! Spring loaded fun! Take your Reformer class to the next level! Incorporating the jumpboard adds a cardio element to the Reformer repertoire. With a focus on keeping proper form, jumpboard (or Jump) exercises are done lying on the Pilates Reformer and pushing-off, or 'jumping', against the spring loaded carriage. The exercises are low impact and easy on the joints.

Clients will alternate between Pilates Jump exercises and traditional Pilates exercises on the Reformer. This technique gives the class a high intensity interval training element.

Grip socks required.

** This class is not appropriate for pre-natal clients or clients who need modifications. Prior reformer class experience is required. 


REFORMER: ABS, ASS, ARMS

LEVEL: INTERMEDIATE

Taking our Reformer class up a notch! This class puts an additional focus on working the abs, the ass, and arms! With more flowing transitions, extra repetitions, added weight, and intermediate Pilates exercises combined with functional fitness will challenge you. Super Yay! 

Grip socks required. 

**This class is not appropriate for pre-natal clients or clients who need modifications. Prior reformer class experience is required. 


REFORMER: ASS KICKING

LEVEL: ADVANCED

Some serious Pilates ass kicking goes down in this class! Get ready to get sweaty! You’ll love the results. Still focusing on form, we fuse elements of Pilates, cardio, and functional fitness to achieve a complete body workout. Expect more repetitions and coordination while still focusing on strength training, balance work, core conditioning, and stretching.  Props such as the jumpboard are incorporated into the class to give it a cardio element. We jump, we plank, we pulse, we twist, and we move to upbeat music in a fun environment. Move over Reformer Abs, Ass and Arms…and get ready for your new favorite class! Don’t worry - you’ll still get your Feet in Straps at the end! Sweat never looked so pretty!

Grip socks required.

ABOUT OUR BARRE CLASSES...

Barre classes are a perfect combination of strength and flexibility exercises utilizing the Ballet barre. With a focus on form and proper biomechanics, we fuse elements of Pilates, Dance, Yoga, and functional fitness to achieve a complete body workout. Expect a little bit of everything...light cardio, strength training, balance work, core conditioning, ballet barre work, and stretching. Our Barre classes are low impact on the joints but are still challenging. Our classes incorporate a variety of small apparatus including the ballet barre, fitness circle, mini-balls, Therabands, and hand weights. Sweat never looked so good!

With a maximum of 8 students, our Barre classes provide a complete body workout in a small group environment that is fun, and energetic in 50 minutes. We bring a whole new meaning to happy hour at the Barre here at Halcyon!

BARRE - BUNS & GUNS

LEVEL: OPEN

Forget the big box barre classes you’ve taken at other studios and gyms, this class will be your next favorite! This class is grounded in Pilates and focused on form, we added in functional fitness exercises and a dash of Ballet moves to sculpt and tone the body. Utilizing a series of bands, light weights, and a barre for stability, this class works your entire body to sculpt your muscles and create structural stability. In this class, you will focus on smaller muscles around your hips, butt, thighs, abs, back and arms. You’ll feel the burn and get the core strengthening, sculpting, toning, and stretching that any self-respecting Pilates junkie wants. Our signature Buns & Guns class has an additional focus on the arms and butt. Be warned - You’ll be back for more. 😍

Say hello to yoga’s sophisticated cousin! In Pilates, the focus is on the core and the goal is precision of movement. We focus on exercises that promote core stability, neutral alignment, and posture. As a result, Pilates develops long lean muscle that aids in strength, flexibility, and endurance without risking injury or building bulk.

With a maximum of 8 students, our Pilates fusion classes provide a complete body workout in a small group environment that is fun, and energetic in 50 minutes. This isn't your Mama's Mat class!

ABOUT OUR PILATES FUSION CLASS LEVELS...

PILATES - GETTIN' CHEEKY!

LEVEL: OPEN

Not so basic! With an added focus on the booty, this class is a modern fusion of Pilates, movement, balance, stability, functional training, stretching and more. We combine the best core strengthening and sculpting elements of Pilates, with the best booty lifting and toning exercises and end with stretching. We utilize a variety of your favorite fitness props including, bands, light weights, fitness circle, sliders, and small balls to target the smaller muscle groups that are often overlooked in big box gyms! Join us & Get Cheeky! 🍑  🍑

ROWING CLASSES


ROWING CLASSES


ABOUT OUR ROWING CLASSES...

Why row? Rowing is a full body exercise! It's not just for the arms. We use 60% legs, 20% core, and 20% arms. This is one cardio class that you’ll want to come back for. Rowing has been touted as the “New Spinning” by many fitness publications.  Unlike a stationary bike, which has resistance in one direction, rowing has resistance in both directions - forward and back.  Rowing is very simple to learn, anyone can do it.

Our rowing classes max out at 5 clients. We use the WaterRower machines. This indoor rower is unique in that it uses water for resistance (unlike a fan and chain rower that is used in many big box gyms). WaterRower designed their rower to emulate the dynamics of rowing through water. By using water for resistance, the workout provides a more realistic rowing experience. This is good for those who row competitively, and those who like to row for a kick-ass cardio workout.   

ABOUT OUR ROWING CLASS LEVELS... 

Our classes are mixed levels, except where noted in the class descriptions. If you are new to Rowing we highly recommend you take our Rowing with my Homies class first. If you have a major injury, or need extreme modifications, or are a pre-post natal client, we recommend that you contact the studio first to determine the most appropriate group class.


ROWING WITH MY HOMIES!

LEVEL: OPEN

Get your heart rate up and get your sweat on! We start with cardio by rowing on our water-based rowing machines for 30 minutes. Then finish with a Pilates and Yoga inspired workout on the mat with exercises to tone, sculpt, and stretch it out. 

Grip socks and shoes required. 

This class is a open level but is not appropriate for pre-natal clients.

HALCYON ROW

LEVEL: OPEN

This high intensity interval training class combines cardio rowing intervals on our water-based rowing machines with sculpting exercises for the perfect balance of cardio and strength training.

Shoes required.

This class is not appropriate for pre-natal clients, or clients who need extreme modifications.

THE FULL ROW

LEVEL: OPEN

Full on cardio and sweatfest! For when you want to just "row it out." The goal is to row 10K (10,000 meters) in this class! Get ready to row your ass off!
